E Komo Mai – Welcome!
Kikaha O Ke Kai is a Tacoma outrigger canoe paddling club and a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We focus on preserving Hawaiian culture through outrigger canoe paddling.Today, we welcome everyone—from ages 5 to 75 (and beyond)—into our growing ʻohana.
We maintain a vibrant Keiki Program that teaches children how to paddle, work as a team, and embrace Hawaiian values in a fun environment. We welcome folks of all ages and skill levels. Our Membership page explains how to get involved. Although our main season runs from March through September, you will still find our most determined paddlers on the water year-round.
In 2024, we enjoyed a landmark season. We took first place at the Gorge Outrigger Race, and we also competed in races across Hawaiʻi, California, Arizona, Oregon, and Washington. As we prepare for 2025, we partnered with Hammers & Legends, who designed our killer Titan jerseys with PROMETEX™ HEAT fabric.
For more details on upcoming events, visit our Race Resources. In addition, you can learn about our generous Sponsors who help us excel at every turn.
Mahalo nui loa for your support of Kikaha O Ke Kai. We strive each day to remain the premier paddling club in Tacoma and throughout the Pacific Northwest. We can’t wait to see you on the water!
